Last time I went home, the battery of the TV remote control was dead. I dug out two coins from the drawer and planned to go to the alley shop to buy two batteries. Probably because the shop was closed, the roadside stone pier was covered with moss. The alley is not long, connecting the village inside the eight-character lake and the open space in front of the ancestral temple. I still remember when I was a child, especially in summer. There is only one door in the alley, and that is the small shop. The shop is so inconspicuous that foreigners cannot see it at all. There is no entertainment at night in the countryside. Most of the aunts go to the open space to dance. Other boring people will come to this alley, enter the small shop to gather three or two tables of mahjong, or sit on the stone pier in the alley to talk about the recent interesting things.

If you push open the guard door and enter, you will find that the shop is bigger than expected and has a patio. The furnishings are simple, with two old-fashioned sales counters and two wooden shelves. The empty space and the attic did not have any goods to store, but put a few eight immortals tables and made a chess and card room. I remember once, my uncle next door tricked me into buying me popsicles as long as I drilled all the tables. I believed it! Small shops sell small things like light bulbs, batteries, matches and other small things for daily use. I heard that some old men were in poor health and were not allowed to drink at home. If they were addicted to alcohol, they would sneak into a small shop to buy two or two white wine and a pack of peanuts. At that time, it was still a 51-dollar bottle of "Double Deer " beer. I always pestered my father to buy a 50-dollar bottle of soda or a dime of bubble gum. I could chew "creaking " for a long time. Finally, I reluctantly spit it it it out under the fear of parents saying that swallowing it would become bald, that should be the most carefree time.

Standing in front of the small shop in the alley, it seems that you can still hear the noise of your little self being teased. It seems that you can still see your little body holding a dime and rushing across the alley into the store just for a piece of bubble gum.
