Impression of the Forbidden City

In our capital Beijing, there is a city within a city that has carried hundreds of years of ups and downs. It is the Forbidden City, the largest royal courtyard in the world. Last summer vacation, our family of six visited Beijing. Naturally, the Forbidden City was a place we had to go.

Speaking of the Forbidden City, the nature that brings us the most intuitive feeling is the Qing palace drama that has emerged one after another in recent years. In those TV plays, we saw the magnificent atmosphere of the Forbidden City and the atmosphere of court life in the Ming and Qing dynasties. However, these TV plays are not filmed in the real Forbidden City, but in Dongyang Hengdian. Although there are some references in the design of the Ming and Qing palaces in Hengdian, when you really arrive at the Forbidden City, you will find that these crystallization through historical precipitation and the wisdom of the ancients, in some senses, Hengdian is still incomparable.

Forbidden City is located in the center of Beijing. It is the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It was built in the fourth year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1406 ) and in the 18th year of Yongle (AD 1420 ). It was formerly known as "Forbidden City " and has a history of nearly 600 years. Since its establishment, 24 emperors have ruled the country for nearly 500 years. A central axis runs through the entire Forbidden City and the old Beijing city. The three halls, the three back palaces and the imperial garden, which are well known to us for the Qing palace opera, are all located on this central axis.

The Forbidden City is a typical traditional Chinese civil construction, design, construction is very exquisite. For example, the palace - , which rarely appears in TV plays but has the most domineering name, is also the smallest palace in the Forbidden City. There are two stone platforms on both sides of the terrace in front of the Ganqing Palace. There is a gilt bronze pavilion on each stone platform. The west is Jiangshan Hall and the east is Sheji Hall. The total is "Jiangshan Sheji Golden Hall " . The two palaces are small but beautifully built. Four partition doors are installed on each side of the Sheji Hall. The circular pointed upper eaves have ancient and elegant roofs, which symbolize that the country is in the hands of the emperor. It also places the ruler's hope that the country will be safe and the people will be safe and the country will be stable. Therefore, it is also called "Golden Pavilion " .

In the Gan Qing Palace, Tianyi Gate and many other places, you can often see a pair of unicorn mongoose, squatting with their heads held high and their mouths open, with bells tied to their necks, very powerful. It is said that the emperor kept sounding the alarm bell for himself, and specially set up "sex loyalty " in the palace to warn himself. The bronze deer in front of Chu Xiu Palace is said to have been placed by Empress Dowager Cixi. The ancients have the symbolic meaning of "World Deer " , which reflects her yearning for power. In ancient myths and legends, the deer belongs to the auspicious beast that gives people good health and good fortune to others, and is also the symbol of the prosperity of the enlightened monarchy ...

Six hundred years of vicissitudes of life, the Forbidden City has always witnessed the process of history, telling a silent story.
