In the 1970 s, my father was criticized by the rebels, and his spirit was greatly damaged. Grandpa said, "take it easy, it will get better soon." Sure enough, in the 1980 s, the land contract responsibility system made farmers' lives prosperous. But then Grandpa said again, "Don't forget the basics of eating, if it weren't for the previous decades of hard work in water conservancy and construction, how can we have the current drought and flood to ensure income?" The year Grandpa died, the school tide was so fierce that he sighed and said, "These kids can only see a black wall, but not a bright road." At that time, I was too young to understand this sentence at all. Now that 30 years have passed, when I think about this sentence again, I can't help but sigh that Grandpa is really a philosopher.

Grandpa didn't drink or smoke all his life, so he liked to talk about rivers and lakes. He once asked me, "What is a river? What is a lake?" I still don't understand. Maybe this is my real regret. (Wang Yiyan)
