How should people live to be meaningful? After reading "How is Steel Made", I have a deep feeling about this question.
In this novel, the author uses his own special experience as the material to create a glorious character - Paul · Kochagin. Paul was born in poverty, but he has been constantly striving for self-improvement, adhering to his beliefs, never giving up his ideals and pursuits, and has been fighting for the victory of the revolution. There is a famous quote in the book: "Human life is the most precious. When he looks back on the past, he should not regret for his mediocrity ......" No one is willing to live a mediocre life, because even the grass is trying to add a touch of green to the spring, hoping to leave his shadow on the scroll of spring.
So how is steel tempered? Paul's family is not rich, 12 years old, he dropped out of school to work. Later, Paul and Donya became the most intimate friends. But the good times did not last long. Because of the threat of death, Paul could only escape from his hometown and left Donya from then on. On the battlefield, Paul was injured and met a female soldier named Lida, but because of a misunderstanding, Lida also left Paul. After that, Paul's body became weaker and weaker until he could no longer work, but he still tried every means to do something within his power and share as much as possible for others. As his illness worsened, his eyes were almost blind and he lost the ability to walk. It was under such bad circumstances that he began to try to write a novella describing Ktovsky's heroic cavalry. In order to write non-serial, he carved a grid on the board. He wrote day and night until he could see nothing, but as soon as he began to think, his clear eyes would be full of life again. Unfortunately, the article written so hard was lost in a mail, and more than six months of hard work was wasted. Although Paul was very angry, under the persuasion of his comrades, he calmed down and began to write again. In the end, the novel was written and successfully published, and Paul finally defeated himself!
After reading "How Steel Is Made", I have a deeper understanding of how much faith, ideals, and perseverance will have an impact on my life. Just like Paul, if he does not have such strong perseverance, then he will not be strong to live, will not achieve their aspirations.
"The most precious thing for people is life. Life belongs to us only once. There will always be stormy seas in life, and only those who are fearless have a way forward.
