How daunting it is to drive on such a Gobi Desert! In the tuyere area on the way to Turpan, windmills of all sizes can often be seen on the Gobi Desert, which uses wind power to generate electricity. I have seen them from Kunming to Lijiang before. Later, from Turpan to Shanshan, windmills became large and small oil drilling machines. The Gobi Desert, though desolate, is rich in oil and gas beneath its barren exterior.
