1948 11 29 , the Northeast Field Army of the people's Liberation Army and the North China military region launched the Pingjin campaign. Yunnan Pu 'er (formerly Simao)

Simao is an important border town in Yunnan Province and a transportation hub along the southwest of Yunnan Province. It has a very important strategic position. 1946 , the CPC Spute Branch sent party members to Simao to carry out work. 1948 7 In May, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the "Jinglan Sixth Military and Political Committee of the Yunnan People's Liberation Alliance" was formed to form armed standing teams in Jinggu, Lancang and other places. At the beginning of 1949 , the standing teams formed the Puguang army of the self-defense army and a detachment of the southern border region respectively to prepare for an armed uprising.
