My childhood favorite was rice candy

. There is a custom in Dongyang, my hometown. Every winter, I always make some rice candy for the Chinese New Year, commonly known as "annual candy".

rice sugar seems ordinary, but the production process is actually quite complicated. The most basic ingredient is usually popcorn, which is ground into rice after the autumn harvest and then exploded into rice flowers by heating. Now that the conditions are good, many people use glutinous rice for popcorn, which will make the taste crunchy and fade into the mouth. However, popcorn cannot be directly used to make rice sugar. It must be fried in a large iron pan with Wen fire to make it slightly yellow. This sugar is crunchy. Rice sugar will generally add fried sesame, peanuts, etc., taste more fragrant. Therefore, ordinary rice candy is created by people using the gift of nature and hard work and wisdom.

Rice candy in my hometown always has a special taste. When I was a child, in order to be able to eat the first bite of rice candy, I would stay up late and wait. When I couldn't wait, I got up early the next day and the first thing I said was to ask my mother for rice candy. There are many varieties of rice candy on the market now, including sesame, peanut, green bean, corn, walnut, etc., but they are not comparable to the sweet taste when I was a child.

rice candy is my favorite when I was a child. It can be said that I never tire of eating it. I was hungry after school, and the first thought in my mind was to go home and find rice candy to appease my hunger. A stack in the hand, a piece of entrance, a crisp "click" between the teeth, the mouth is crisp, not only can satisfy hunger, but also satisfy cravings. When I was in junior high school, there was a night study. I don't know which gluttonous guy ate rice candy in the classroom. The aroma was overflowing and filled the whole classroom. It made the students salivate. Finally, some people couldn't help scolding: "Who stole food?!" Eating alone is harmful!

Living conditions are getting better and better now. There are a wide variety of foods for the New Year. Rice candy is not a necessary food for the New Year. However, as long as neighbors, relatives and friends make rice candy, parents will set up a group to make some and wait for us to taste it when we go home for the New Year.
