Before that, another member of the Youth League Committee and I went to a nursing home to learn about their situation and needs. Because I have never been to a nursing home, I feel very novel. There are 112 elderly people in the elderly apartment in Pu'er City, most of whom are "three noes". They usually stay in the elderly apartment and seldom go out. As soon as we entered the gate, we saw the old people sitting in the small garden and the playground, sitting so quietly, chatting with each other very little, it seemed very calm. But when they saw our car coming in, they looked at us one after another, and there were small waves in their eyes. Due to the limited time, we directly found the person in charge to find out the situation and left in a hurry.

The second time I went to respect the elderly apartment was the day of the activity. This time I had full contact with the elderly. My colleagues and I distributed condolences to them and chatted with them. The scene was very lively. There is an old woman 95 years old, her eyes are invisible, her legs are not good, and her daily life is taken care of by her roommates and nurses. Knowing that we came to offer condolences, she happily pulled us to speak. We sent the grandmother back to the dormitory, she repeatedly said don't mention it, quick pour water to drink, very enthusiastic. The old people in other rooms saw us and came in to greet us and thank us assiduously.

Although old people seldom go out, they still pay close attention to the information from the outside world. An old man chatted with us and said, "Peak, that Yunnan peak, peak cement I know." he asked him: "do you still know our yunnan pinnacles?" the old man answered: "yes, of course I know, that enterprise is very famous."

Time always passes quickly. It's time for the old people to have lunch soon. We are ready to gather and leave. Suddenly, someone took my hand from behind and turned around. It turned out to be an old man with turbid and warm eyes. He was very excited. He held me with one hand and scratched with the other hand. His mouth was open and closed. He babbled. Only then did I know that the old man was a deaf-mute old man. He said hastily, "Grandpa, I know what you want to say. You don't have to thank us. You just need to be good." The old man's eyes were filled with tears. I stopped talking and held his hand and touched the back of his hand as comfort. After a while, the old man raised his finger and pointed to the front. It turned out that the colleague's camera was facing us, and we took a picture together.

On the way back, I had mixed feelings. The muddy and warm eyes, the weather-beaten slightly rough hands, the old people's desire for love, deeply imprinted in my mind. As the younger generation, we should give them more care and help to make their life more colorful.

In fact, there are still many people in life who need the help and care of the whole society. We should join hands, dedicate our love, and use our practical actions to compose a hymn of love! (wang kaimei)
