The processing technology of Pinellia ternata decoction pieces won the invention patent

The technological innovation project of "Development and Industrialization of Pinellia ternata Based on Alkaline Negative Ion Glycyrrhiza Extract" of Jianfeng Health Technology Company was approved by Jinhua Economic and Information Bureau in November 2022, and was authorized by the national invention patent in July 2023.

Pinellia ternata decoction pieces commonly used in clinical practice of traditional Chinese medicine are dried tubers of Pinellia ternata, a perennial herb of Araceae. The whole plant of Pinellia ternata is toxic, and its tuber can be poisoned when eaten raw at 0.1-1.8g, which has strong stimulation to the mucous membranes of oral cavity, throat and digestive tract. Taking a small amount can make the mouth and tongue numb, while taking a large amount can cause burning pain and swelling, inability to vocalize, vomiting, numbness of the whole body, slow and incomplete breathing, spasm, dyspnea, which can lead to permanent loss and even paralysis to death. Therefore, the common Pinellia ternate on the market is processed. Most of the commonly used processing methods are water, fire or water and fire. The operation steps are complicated, the processing time is long, and the wastewater generated in the processing process is highly toxic, which will cause subsequent pollution and increase the cost of wastewater treatment. In view of this, Jianfeng Health has developed a Pinellia ternata processing technology. By pretreating the net Pinellia ternata, the cell permeability of Pinellia ternata is improved, and then using ginger and alum for detoxification treatment, it can effectively improve the detoxification efficiency, shorten the detoxification time and improve the production efficiency. At the same time, in the process of soaking and detoxification, by applying an electric field to the soaking solution and using alum solution as the electrolyte, on the one hand, the introduction of other heavy metal ions can be avoided, on the other hand, the detoxification efficiency can be accelerated, and the heavy metal content in the wastewater can be reduced. In the process of industrialization, this technology not only greatly shortens the processing time of Pinellia ternata and improves the production efficiency, but also reduces the toxicity of the wastewater after the processing of Pinellia ternata and reduces the cost of wastewater treatment.
